Cold War’s singleplayer is it’s own troubling thing, and Brendan’s campaign review does an excellent job dissecting its many flaws. Thankfully, the multiplayer component is self-contained. It’s still this familiar crashing of bullets and bodies, where lobbies merge into one another and people named “xXup_the_goochXx” spew insults at “kevinheadshotyournan1994” in between matches. If you’ve never been a Call Of Duty fan, I can’t see this converting you. But, if you’re a lapsed veteran or have been craving a subtle change in the formula, then it’ll do the trick....

A word of warning is appropriate here, however. In order to play this deck effectively, you’ll have to juggle a lot of unknown variables that will present themselves throughout the course of each match. It’s hard to make the right decisions at the right time with this deck, and a lot of the meta will be able to rush you down before you have the chance to respond. Earlier on February 11th, 1,320,219 people were playing CS:GO simultaneously according to Steam’s own stats. That beats the previous record of 1,308,963 from April 2020. You can see the historic data most easily via SteamDB. I think it would be reasonable to speculate that the peak in April 2020 was prompted in part by a global pandemic increasing player counts across gaming in general. The latest peak is harder to diagnose, although there was an update yesterday which introduced new community-made weapon finished and stickers....

Following its early debut on phones, Golf On Mars arrived on Steam this Friday. It is, very much, more Desert Golfing’s wonderfully simple click-n-drag swinging - but a little cleaner, a little smoother, and with what feels like a slight floatiness to account for our crimson neighbour’s lower gravity. It does appear the procedural holes have been pushed further this time ‘round, mind. Terrain is smoother, weirder, and players won’t be progressing together through the same sequence of holes....

Resurrected pretties up ye olde game with new 3D art to replace the old sprites and such, but is still Diablo 2 v1.14 at heart. And unlike the Warcraft 3 remaster, D2 Resurrected won’t replace the original game. If you own it, you’ll still be able to play it same as ever. And apparently the two are so similar at heart, you can load original saves into the remaster. I have been impressed by Blizzard’s commitment to the old style, going so far as to dig up the old 3D models used to create the originals spirites then reworking into new models - Tyrael’s glorious wings are straight from that 3D model....
