Sony have today released the first images and information about the “DualSense”, the new controller that will ship with the PlayStation 5. There’s no confirmation yet but the assumption is that it will follow its predecessor by working on PC as well. So: would you give up your Xbox controller for Sony’s latest? As RPS’ resident modder, I often come across dedicated communities propping up old games. I’m used to seeing glow-ups, but this pewed me away. The people behind it have been working on the game for 20 years, expanding their original plans from upgrading the ship models to retouching everything in the game. The base game remains intact, but the visual overhaul is stellar, and I’d have no issue with loading it up for a space battle or ten....

In any case, I’m rather fond of the game, and have attacked my own friends for daring to menace its ants, as warned. Squenix’s new video is an address by producer Yoshinori Kitase. It’s just a short “message to the fans” reiterating why Square think you’ll be ga-ga for the remake. Your eyes may gloss over watching it, but look sharp down there at the bottom of the screen. What’s that in fine print? “Gameplay captured on PC,” it says. Oh really? Most likely, this is just a small disclaimer about the video quality and framerate, not some sneaky revelation....
Warner’s most recent role in video games was a return to the character of Irenicus in 2016’s Baldur’s Gate: Siege Of Dragonspear. Beamdog, developers of Dragonspear along with the Enhanced Edition revamps of Baldur’s Gate and its sequel, managed to coax the actor back to record new lines for their version of the second game too. Andrew Foley, who worked with Warner on Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition, said in 2016: As a classically trained actor who’d played Hamlet and Henry VI in Royal Shakespeare Company productions, Warner helped make Baldur’s Gate 2 into one of the best RPGs of the 2000s....
Heck, back then I wasn’t even trying to play Alan Wake at the time, either. While the PC version didn’t come out until 2012, I first came to Alan Wake a year later in 2013, according to my Steam achievements, and man alive, my PC just wasn’t up to snuff. I remember just about getting through the first section easily enough, where Alan’s chilling out in his mountain cabin trying to write his new crime novel but then discovers his wife’s gone walkabout....
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective Reawakens Another Nintendo DS title makes its way to PC, this time with the puzzle-solving Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective Reawakens. Ghost Trick is a supernatural detective thriller from Ace Attorney director, Shu Takumi. The PC release will have remastered visuals, fresh music and an updated UI - I guess tapping my monitor with a DS stylus isn’t feasible. When our Ed played a few hours of a preview version earlier this year, he didn’t see much that made it stand out. “Still, what I played of Lost Ark was undeniably fun, with strong combat in a wonderfully presented world,” he conceded. “Those early hours are packaged in a traditional MMO fashion, though, and it’s clear this game is going to be a big old time sink for those who want to persevere with it....
According to SteamDB, New World hit its all-time peak of 200,856 concurrent players on Sunday, and around 90,000 are in-game now. It’s currently the seventh most-popular game on Steam, above the likes of Rust, Team Fortress 2 and Warframe. These stats absolutely blow Crucible out of the water, which saw a peak of around 25,000 players during its own beta last year. Players are a little more hungry for a new MMO than an odd mishmash of team shooter and MOBA, it seems....

As well as all this, the Season 7 update brought with it the new Legend Horizon, a Club system, and a load of changes to the way the battle pass works - not good changes, unfortunately, because now it’s even grindier than it was before. The new map is a big abandoned futuristic city that, honestly, is a bit tedious to run around. It’s clearly designed with the Tridents in mind - they’re the quickest and most fun way to get from place to place....
This gives the TUF Dash F15 an important leg up over other RTX 30 laptops at the moment, as most Intel systems have settled for one of their older 10th Gen CPUs, like the Aorus 15G, or jumped ship entirely and gone with one of AMD’s new Ryzen 5000 chips, like the Scar 15. This is because Intel haven’t actually released their full suite of 11th Gen H-series chips yet, which means there aren’t any direct replacements for CPUs like their popular Core i7-10750H....
Along with the bog standard suit cards, there’s another two types of rules cards to muck about with. The first are verb cards, but there’s only one of those and that’s Is. Then you’ve got four quality cards: On Any, Any Suit, Opposite, and +5. While rules cards can be stacked by their type, they can also be stacked in two types of three-word rules, such as Baba Is Keke to change suit, or Baba Is Any Suit to muck about with where cards can be stacked....
In a new post, Turtle Rock say “we wanted to give you a sneak peek and a bit of Hope,” presumably meaning, yes, that very fortified-looking base bearing the same name. For now, there’s nothing more concrete than a sun-dappled Hope on a hillside flying a United States flag. As for what we knew already, they divulged only a few details last year. “You’ll be able to shoot up a lot of zombies like in Left 4 Dead, but there’s a whole lot of new stuff in Back 4 Blood which makes it unique,” they said over a year ago when Back 4 Blood was announced....
