This is fast-paced XCOM in space, with extensively destructible terrain, an intriguing dual focus on ranged and melee combat, and not a miss chance in sight. That should sound enticing to just about anyone....

Last night Raven Software announced that they’d removed armoured trucks from Warzone due to “an ongoing issue with players becoming invisible”. They’re now investigating the glitch and hoping for a permanent fix. A shame, as I liked these trucks. Here’s a clip of an invisible player being an arse. They even appear invisible in the victory screen, the bastard. This isn’t the first time Warzone’s succumbed to an invisibility exploit....

Legion released a patch not long after launch to address issues such as framerates and performance while driving, but there’s been more than that to tackle. “Since the launch of Watch Dogs: Legion, some of you continue to have technical issues preventing you from enjoying the game. The dev team is committed to fixing these issues and will not stop until everyone can experience the game as intended,” Ubisoft say in today’s update....

I haven’t played a Need For Speed game since I was 13 and this wasn’t on my radar at all, but yeah, sure, let’s drive. It looks just like the games I remember but with optional silly animated wings and dust trails. The campaign is structured around earning enough money to enter ‘The Grand’: the biggest, grandest, most streetiest race of them all. You can do that by both winning races and betting on yourself to win those races, which sounds like the sort of thing that’s presented as a decision but will just result in me betting the max on myself every time and reloading if I lose....

The three games have a note stating “this title will not be accessible following September 1st, 2022” on their store pages. That implies that they won’t be available to redownload even for those who’ve purchased them. Not a great look, Ubisoft. The Steam reviews are now, predictably, Mostly Negative. “So I basically bought a digital paperweight.
