Like the previous two main line games in the series, Travis is back trying to make his way to the top of the assassin leaderboard in NHM 3, taking out one boss after another with his flashy lightsaber....
In No More Heroes, you play as Travis Touchdown, this anime-obsessed porn junkie who wields a lightsaber and speaks exclusively in one-liners. Your mission is to climb the ten ranks within an assassins organisation and become the number one killer by murdering your way to the top. I’m not clear on a more specific motive - there’s a highlight reel at the start which I think was meant to explain what’s going on, but it zipped over my head....

This is still yet another costly graphics card, with most board partner models (there’s no Nvidia Founders Edition for the RTX 4070 Ti) landing somewhere between the Radeon RX 7900 XT and the Radeon RX 7900 XTX on price. The version I’ve tested, MSI’s GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Suprim X 12G, will set you back £950 / $998, more than a one-third increase on the launch price of the RTX 3070 Ti back in 2021....

RuneScape, like any successful MMORPG, changed a lot over its lifespan and a lot of players missed its earlier days. Developers Jagex satisfied those players by launching Old School RuneScape in 2013, and they’ve added and expanded to it alongside RuneScape ever since. Last year, Old School RuneScape broke its own records for concurrent players, with over 157,000 players online at one time. That’s thanks mainly to its Leagues - short-term competitive events for which players have to create new characters to compete in specific challenges....

Blizzard explained what they’re calling their “Defense Matrix” in a blog post today. The pertinent part is the First Time User Experience, which offers new players only a limited set of game modes, heroes and features when they first start. This is pitched in part as an attempt to avoid overwhelming new players, it’ll also slow down disruptive behaviour, Blizzard say, because of the time investment required to unlock everything....

I haven’t played either game, but Steve Hogarty described Sandrock as “Stardew Valley with a gun”, so I probably should. See the teaser trailer above for a peek at the old faces and the new areas, complete with evil mushrooms and wrench-wielding goblin men to shoot at. More details are sparse, but developers Pathea Games do mention the new place is called the Valley Of Whisper. Seems a bit rude to blow a big hole in a place like that with dynamite....
This week’s Mystery Steam Reviews is different. I knew focusing on games set in Britain could bring some controversy, but I genuinely wasn’t expecting what happened. There was a little leeway when selecting games set in Britain, but picking an F1 game because of Silverstone wasn’t going to cut it. You can watch the video to see if everyone stuck to the rules. At 32 inches across, this is big enough to use as a TV, and with a VA panel you get super deep blacks and tons of contrast, perfect for darker scenes whether in games or videos. As I mentioned before, this contrast and a high brightness rating means it earns a DisplayHDR 600 certification, and HDR films and games actually look pretty good....

Whatever it is following us wipes out systems in its wake, and time is limited. My glasses are undeniably rose-tinted, but they don’t blind me. When Captain Forever Trilogy came out two years ago, a revamped version with new components to pour over, I fell in love again. A recent update added multiplayer for up to four people, and I’m now buzzing with excitement. Buzzing! Properly buzzing! There’s a focus on inventive planning, and that’s a big part of why I like it so much....
Amro Elansari filed his original complaint against developer Jagex in July 2019, claiming they “violated his rights to free speech and due process of law.” The suit was dismissed by the district court, a decision that has now been upheld by the appeals court for the 3rd Circuit. Elansari was “muted” in an unnamed online game in March of 2019, according to his “largely handwritten” complaint, says PennLive. Given his suit names Jagex and that Elansari “claimed he had 2,000 hours invested in the game when he was booted out,” it seems to follow that he had his account muted in some version of RuneScape....
