The Remnant series hails from Darksiders devs Gunfire Games, and Remnant 2 chucks you into a world packed with nasty things to save the last remaining, erm, remnants of humanity. Doing that means you’ll be shooting up evil beings in third-person, and juggling quest lines with searching up loot. It’s okay though, because your knight in slightly tarnished armour has a whole bunch of weapons and augmentations to help them bust some heads....

The first is Shadow Of Rose, a story expansion set after the events of the base game that focuses on Rose, the daughter of Village protagonist Ethan Winters. In an attempt to understand the origin of her mysterious “powers”, Rose will enter the consciousness of the twisted mould that was the source of all the bother in both Biohazard and Village. Players will guide Rose through a number of spooky locales, including what appears to be Castle Dimetrescu from the game’s main campaign....

Turns out that specific “oof” belongs to a sound designer who originally created the noise for the noughties game Messiah. Now, the Roblox Corporation plan on charging for the noise. Oof. As reported by VentureBeat, the CEO of Intellivision, Tommy Tallarico only discovered last year that this “oof” was something he made. Rather than giving them some sort of cease and desist, he instead went into talks with Roblox. Now, they’ve settled the dispute, and everyone’s a winner!...

So, Shrines are the gentler addition for people who’d rather not fuss with the game’s still-really-quite-boring combat. Six different Shrines are scattered around the map and yup, they are helpfully marked. That’s good. Some are focused around solving puzzles or navigating the environment, though some will have fisticuffs. “You’ve got these huge structures within the Sunken Kingdom, which you must go down and explore all the different nooks and crannies for hidden treasure and secrets,” senior environment artist James Crosbie explained....

This is obviously a sci-fi game, what with the frog in a space suit that’s piloting a robot. Moving Pieces say that “the forces of Entropy are spreading chaos through the stars, corrupting living planets and urging on the heat death of the universe.” Crikey, sounds serious. Better get our best frogbot on it, then. The frog and robot team is led by a psychic owl, who’s far too reminiscent of Virgil from the Mighty Max cartoon to not give me flashbacks....
