Still, while a FFVIII Remake is the thing I live in hope for, by golly does the new four-minute trailer for its wildly popular predecessor look exciting. There’s Red XIII! Cross-dressing Cloud! Hojo! Some questionable dialogue! Lots of horrible Shinra execs! Summons! More of that gorgeous battle music! And someone called Aerith? Time to get HYPED. Cor, what a thing. Wasn’t that exciting? I’m particularly enamoured with the new Uematsu-composed theme song “Hollow” that plays in the first half of the trailer....
A press release from The Game Awards describe Axial Tilt as “an interactive world that serves as a metaverse hub for programming and events hosted by Geoff Keighley.” I describe it as a bad game where you run around grinding resource nodes to get materials to power up abilities to grind better and craft powercells to do… something? You can also play minigames like a version of The Floor Is Lava which is too laggy to work....

You stick with what you’re comfortable with, obviously, but games that actually need a full-sizer’s extra keys are vanishingly rare, and TKL is the most space-saving form factor that never cuts more frequently-used inputs like dedicated function keys. 75% keyboards are similar but it’s a bit of a lottery whether those include arrow keys, and I need my arrow keys....

Now there are dozens of automation games out there, more releasing every year, and each one desperately trying to put its own spin on the format. I’ve played many of them now, and I can safely say that Dyson Sphere Program comes the closest to knocking the almighty Factorio off its throne....

Only pretty much as soon as you arrive, you find your brother Blake is missing and nobody knows where he’s gone....
