Hello Games announced the next update in a new post. It’s quite light on details, aside from giving the name Origins—an interesting choice for a game that’s been out for years. “Four years ago we announced Foundation, our first major update for No Man’s Sky. We promised ‘It won’t be our largest update, but it is the start of something’,” Hello Games say. “Those words were true at the time, and they ring true for Origins....
Representing the RTX 3070, RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3080 in this head to head are the Nvidia Founders Edition of the RTX 3070 Ti and 3080, and Zotac’s GeForce RTX 3070 Twin Edge GPU. I ran all three cards at their default clock speeds, and I’ve kept ray tracing and DLSS switched off as well so we can get the best look at their raw performance. As for the rest of my PC specs, I paired each card with my usual Intel Core i5-10600K processor and 16GB of Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB RAM, and put them head to head in my suite of graphics benchmarks, taking an average frame rate from their own built-in benchmarking tools or from my own repeatable manual gameplay tests....
Prices are, admittedly, all over the shop right now, but under normal circumstances the RTX 3080 should cost around £649 / $699. The RTX 3070, on the other hand, is £200 / $200 less, starting at £469 / $499. That’s quite a big difference if you’re budgeting for a new PC build at the moment, so you’ll want to make sure you’re getting the right graphics card for your PC before you begin....
Take a peek at the trailer below for an incredibly chill bit of footage with some excellent music accompanying it. It almost seems therapeutic. I’ve played a tiny bit of OCO on my phone (it’s free on Android), and it’s absolutely the sort of peaceful thing I could lose an hour or so to. In each level, you’re plonked onto a rotating mess of 2D blocks. As the level moves around (you’re the tiny square), you have to jump at the right times to collect all the little Pac-Man-like pellets and complete the stage....
I keep a list of games trying to do what Dwarf Fortress does. Unfortunately the nature of these games is so time consuming that progress on working through it is excruciatingly slow. There are many people going after the ☼management game☼ crown. Odd Realm is one of the more humble efforts, but also one of the most impressive. There’s a constant sense of dread to Dwarf Fortress. Its uncompromising save system and famous “losing is fun” motto have their upside, but they make for fleeting creations and stressful experiences....
More specifically, Glumberland say that the 2020 year of Oob has been “foretold in the prophecies/milestone calendar.” That does actually sound like a promising, grounded estimate. They’ve been hesitant to suggest any firm dates and yeah, this is not a firm date, but it’s a year and that’s more than I had before. Glumberland invites you to draw whatever wild conclusions you will from this proclamation. I’ll avoid anything too wild and instead tell you what they say they’ve been working on....
Paradise Island is an imperfect alternate reality meant to resurrect the dead gods once it reaches its final form. Before it can be recreated in its most perfect state, someone offs the entire counsel who were meant to do it. It’s a strange place with stranger inhabitants and Lady Love Dies will need to collect clues on all of them to figure out whodunnit. None of the neon-colored cast are above suspicion....

Earlier today, some players signed into Steam and were faced with a message stating that, “A Steam Product code you activated has been removed from your account,” and identifying the product as Overfall. The people in that thread mostly say they purchased the game via a bundle on digital game storefront Fanatical in 2018. In response to understandable frustration from players, Overfall’s developers Pera Games posted a brief response on the game’s Steam forum....

Here’s the trailer: Palia’s developers are explicit about wanting to provide a cosy play experience that’s as much about creativity as anything else. The game’s press release talks about a “flexible fashion system”, and the ability to become “an award-winning cook, or the best gardener in the world.” I’m unsure how these activities link to its multiplayer elements, or exactly how “massive” an MMO it is. The press release also mentions a “social matchmaking system”, suggesting its world will be instanced, but I don’t know if you’ll be gardening together or merely jogging with bows and bug catchers as per the video....

PSO2’s PC arrival is a footnote in an announcement for the eight-year-old MMORPG’s Xbox One launch, following open and closed betas on the console. Right at the bottom, past the cafe redesign and buck-wild $60 Sonic The Hedgehog collaboration, and there it is - Phantasy Star Online will hit the Windows Store by the end of May. Notably, these new PSO2 localisations represent a long-awaited North American release. Sorry, Europe - at time of writing, there’s no sign of a localised edition for us....
This actually causes a bit of stirring debate. Matthew is a big Geralt fan, and insists he is obviously an alright bloke with a good sense of humour (but acknowledges they probably wouldn’t get on in person, because Matthew talks too much). Alice is less of a Geralt fan, and gets most of her Witcher kicks by ignoring Geralt’s personal backstory. She is mostly interested in the ghosts. Nate, meanwhile, has just played the opening about a bajillion times, but is still a fan of the atmos....

He explains he set up a fake cheat website, bought Google ads so people searching for free CS cheats were sent his way, then let people’s desire to cheat be their undoing. While it’s presented as a cheat, with options for aimbots and wallhacks and that, in reality it makes players vulnerable to his pranks when they try to cheat in matchmaking....

First, a new trailer introducing Thunderbird, the new operator coming to Siege with the North Star season on June 14th: Alright, it’s linking time. On June 30th, Siege will launch on Stadia and Ubi will add cross-platform multiplayer between PC, Stadia, and Luna. Then, in “early 2022”, they will enable cross-progression between all platforms as well as crossplay between Xbox and PlayStation. Ubisoft said a few months back that they uncertain about PC-console multiplayer and I’m not surprised by the outcome....

In Everwild, you play as an “eternal”, beings who connect with the world around them to feel the flow of nature through every living thing. In the trailer we see these people caring for all manner of fantastical animals - from small deer-like creatures being sheltered from the rain, to big old fish-things spitting all their babies into a lake. Ok, I know that second one doesn’t sound particularly magical, but it all really does look quite lovely....
