The Bundle For Ukraine on Itch.io offers 992 items, with a load of pen & paper games, game-making assets, books, comics, and other bits on top of the 573 video games. Those include A Short Hike, Celeste, Minit, Quadrilateral Cowboy, Hidden Folks, Baba Is You, and oh goodness me so many great games. It really is a lot of games. Kitaria has cute windmills, hopping slimes, and soaring orchestral music. I like it when it rains and I like the townspeople, many of whom seem to be bears. Townsbears? Combat seems like a bigger focus of the game than the trailer suggests....

At its most basic, a board will give you two adjacent two letter segments. One needs to contain the letters A and E, and the other needs to contain the letters S and R. Since these two segments form a line across, together they need to form a word. So, in this case, you know that the letters go in the order E-A-R-S and not, say, A-E-S-R. VGC’s sources say that the first new game will be a “reimagining” of Castlevania made by Konami in Japan. A new Metal Gear Solid, meanwhile, is reportedly in development by Virtuos, an external studio who traditionally offer developers assistance with 3D asset creation. Virtuos most recently worked on Nintendo Switch ports for XCOM2 and BioShock, and previously assisted with Battlefield 1, Uncharted 4, and several Ubisoft games. “The new project is currently in early development and multiple sources suggested it would be centred around fan-favourite entry Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater,” say VGC....

Confirmed attendees include Arma 4, Victoria 3, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, but we’re expecting plenty more trailers, news, and updates on upcoming games over the course of the evening. Given the nature of the beast, though, we can absolutely guarantee our readers that everything we see at the show will be releasing on PC, so no need to worry about those sneaky console exclusives ruining our fun today....

“We do not currently plan further major updates for Medieval Engineers,” Marek Rosa, Keen’s CEO, said in today’s announcement. That makes today’s update the final one, a littl’un fixing “critical” bugs including “a problem with grids disappearing from the world” and several crashes. Rosa explained more of why they’re binning it: Back in May 2019, not long after that last big update and the shift in focus, Medieval Engineers lead Tim Toxopeus did say Keen would return to it (though he himself was leaving)....

Rumours that Infinite might be snipped into various parts floated around following the game’s extended reveal last month. With news that Infinite’s multiplayer would be going free-to-play, a staggered release seemed all the more likely. If you don’t need the retail box to hop into Slayer, the reasoning goes, why wait at all? This week, we learned there may even have been merits to that speculation. Speaking on Gary Whitta’s Animal Talking (a sort of chatshow filmed inside Animal Crossing: New Horizons), Xbox head Phil Spencer explained that he, 343’s Bonnie Ross and Xbox Game Studios chief Matt Booty did, in fact, consider carving up Infinite to make a 2020 release date....

After a small 500MB download for Flight Sim’s launcher, you then have to download a whopping great 90GB in-game before you can actually play it. Steam only lets you refund games you’ve played for less than two hours and, with some downloads taking much longer than that, the worry was that some players wouldn’t be able to refund a game they hadn’t even played. Valve’s vice president of marketing, Doug Lombardi, told PC Gamer: “The time it takes your machine to download the additional content will not be counted against the Steam Refund Policy....

Each Adaptive Button, for instance, can turn into a big D-pad, or a joystick controller, or just a pair of two chunky buttons. It all depends on the personalised attachment, and the Adaptive Button can be programmed with up to eight inputs at once, hence its ability to act as a directional input device. Or just an easy way to punch in different macro commands. The Adaptive Mouse, meanwhile, is by itself just a small puck....

Of course we don’t know exactly what Microsoft will be showing during the event, but we can make some educated guesses. According to Microsoft’s prior announcement, this month’s event will focus on their first-party projects under the Xbox Game Studios umbrella. Recently, 343 Industries posted a message from The Banished likely signalling their return in Halo Infinite. I’d wager we’ll hear other Infinite-related details during the show as well. Games that routinely see updates like Sea Of Thieves and Minecraft may also get a nod if Microsoft care to share the sorts of things we can expect from them over the next year....
