I could be jumping the gun here, of course, as it’s entirely possible Nvidia won’t in fact reveal their line-up of next generation graphics cards in 21 days time, and it could all be an elaborate PR stunt for some kind of commemorative edition of that aforementioned GeForce 256 card. But in the four demo levels I played recently, it seemed like a pretty normal breakup. I was really excited to give it a go, but in the preview I didn’t find the contrast between a face made of squirming hands and the well trodden women-be-leavin’ plot to be particularly affective or evocative. In an announcement today, the Outriders team say that they believe it’s important for players to try it themselves before launch. They’ll be publishing a free demo on February 25th which will take you through the first few hours of the game. You’ll be able to play in singleplayer or co-op with all four of the game’s classes. More interesting yet, you’ll be able to take the character and progress from the demo into the full game at launch....

One biggo on the list is Outriders’ crashing issues and the pesky resulting crash logs that were filling up players’ installation drives. On the general side, People Can Fly say that this patch fixes a number of possible crashes throughout the game. For PC players specifically, they say they’ve “fixed an issue whereby old crash dumps were not being properly cleared from the player’s system.” Those were the 300MB files that had been stuffing hard drives previously....

“Orisa’s first ult was an idea where she could ’teleport’ away (we’d probably kit this differently though), and then ‘drop’ anywhere else on the map via drop pod or something similar,” wrote lead hero designer, Geoff Goodman. “This was back when she was extremely early and we didn’t have a character yet, so I was sort of imaging a character more like Dutch from Predator (hence the mini-gun).” Alas for Orisa, the kind-hearted robot created by a young genius, this sort of ability really didn’t make much sense for the character....

Surviving The Aftermath is currently in early access, though our Nate thinks it’d be better off waiting until it was finished. Don’t be confused by Aftermath sharing a name with Surviving Mars, which Paradox also publish - that was created by Haemimont Games. “The collaborative efforts we’ve shared thus far with Iceflake have given us all the confidence that this is a natural fit,” Paradox COO Charlotta Nilsson said in today’s announcement....

The decision surely has many factors, but the success of the recent port/remaster Persona 4 Golden is a major one. Though created by Sega Sammy subsidiary Atlus, it was published on the PlayStation 2 and Vita by other companies. Regular old Sega stepped in for this year’s PC port, and the results are pleasing. Sega Sammy president Haruki Satomi and senior executive vice president Koichi Fukazawa confirmed as much in a Q&A session with investors held alongside their most recent quarterly financial report (translated by Persona Central): RPS contributor Edwin Evans-Thirlwell was mostly pleased in his Persona 4 Golden review, despite some disappointment with its queer representation....
