Here’s the trailer for Fallout: London in all its very un-American glory. Honestly, it is neat to see a modding team looking outside the US. Other large modding projects are already in the works for bringing Fallout 4 to Seattle and Miami, just off the top of my head. Fallout sometimes feels inseparable from mid-century delusions of American Exceptionalism and corporate tomfoolery. If you had any doubt that the cocktail of retro-future nationalism and classism would stick elsewhere, well here’s Fallout: London to settle it....

In Ed’s Far Cry 6 review, he says the game is fun but repetitive: “Not a great show, not a particularly memorable stand-out. Just a solid mash of juvenile guerrilla action.” As for launch woes, do watch out for crashes when trying to open the game. Some players report Far Cry 6 crashing after the splash screen, while others are having issues launching the game outright. In response to this, Ubisoft Support staff say players should make sure they’re playing on Windows 10, suggesting that pesky new Windows 11 could be causing problems....

Cassidy is a bit lost, a bit lonely, and deals with her depression by fighting it in bed. Every night she dreams about her old life, visiting surreal versions the places she’s lived. She’s dropped into a randomly generated level set in a specific location, like her old town. Each level is a series of connected rooms and each room has its own theme: a fight, a shop, a puzzle, or even just free stuff....

I booted the demo up to check it out and can confirm that this is one that’ll put the ol’ hamster wheel in my head to the test. The demo includes a training scenario to introduce the rules of momentum and movement and combos before chucking you into the first level. It looks like each mission will take you through multiple fights in a few different small spaces. I dropped into the first mission and doled out some beatdowns in a bathroom before choosing to move on to an alleyway (instead of a second bathroom) for my second fight....

Today Square Enix have shared the entire intro movie for the game and it’s a whopping five minutes that goes almost shot-for-shot with the original. It does have some new bits of its own added in, you know, to show that time has passed. Alright, first thing’s first, go ahead and watch it. It’s five minutes but I’ll wait. You deserve to sit through all that re-orchestrated music that Katharine gushed about in the throes of her Final Fantasy 7 remake hype....

Here’s the trailer, showing of its crisp, aliased lines. Ooh: Final Fantasy V is about a boy and his chocobo heading out to save the world after some crystals are knocked out of alignment. It was previously available on PC, but only via a mobile port that had algorithmically up-ressed sprites. This new version maintains the original pixellated look while running on modern monitors. When Brendy and Katharine did their ranking of the best Final Fantasy games, FFV didn’t place inside the included 9....

Here’s an announcement trailer: Airborne Kingdom is a pretty relaxed citybuilder, but The Lost Tundra is “designed with experienced players in mind.” As noted, there aren’t any food, water or coal resources in the biome, and the low temperatures will freeze parts of your city thus “lowering their efficiency,” according to a post on Steam. You’ll need to build new furnace structures to keep everything toasty. The DLC also adds new story and buildings to find, and you’ll be rewarded for surviving the frigid wasteland with new cosmetics and customisation options for your city....

“We pretty much cover the first game in this first season. The remaining material is quite a bit more involved and rather extensive in comparison to the first game,” Mazin said. “There’s really no way to tell the story of the second game in one season. And when you look at how we adapted ‘The Last of Us’ in this season, you can already see where it’s not just the story that’s there, sometimes it’s these other stories we want to tell....

Having played the PS5 demo, though, I think this game’s got potential, but I’m keen to get my hands on the full release on PC before I make up my mind. And I’m sure many of our readers are too! Homebody revolves around Emily, a woman with a shadowy past who ends up trapped in a house while being stalked by a masked killer. Game Grumps and Rogue say that Emily’s escape will be “impossible at first”, but that every run will help to solve the mystery. There’s a hint system though, so you could always use that. Judging from the trailer it seems like you’ll be navigating Emily through the house in good ol’ original Resident Evil fixed camera style....

All other five-star characters need to be rolled for in Genshin Impact, whereas Aloy will be gifted for free as long as you’re adventure rank 20 or higher. Aloy will be added alongside version 2.2 on November 24th, and will be available to unlock until maintenance begins for update 2.3 sometime in December or January. She’ll arrive on PlayStation a month earlier, on October 13th, with extra access to a platform-exclusive four-star bow....

Netflix also blasted the blurb, look away if you don’t want a mild overview? No word yet on when The Witcher season 2 will start. It does seems a third season is currently planned to follow, because one’s listed in the Writers Guild Of America’s directory (as spotted by Redanian Intelligence). The fact that this might be planned doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be made, mind. Netflix this week cancelled Glow season 4, and that was publicly announced and had even entered production....

Get the Logitech MX Master 2S mouse for £40 (was £65) The scroll wheel here is similar to that of the RPS favourite G502, but instead of two distinct modes it automatically switches between chunky, slow steps and near infinite gliding. This adaptive scroll makes it a good choice for both gaming and working, and being able to slam through web pages at high speeds is genuinely useful for students and writers like myself....

Despite only coming fifth, Blaseball deserves recognition as a so wild-it-works gaming experiment. This text-based browser version of baseball gone batty, allows players to vote to alter almost anything they imagine, from number of limbs to random incinerations....

When you finally do work out what you’re doing, Pepper is told to deliver one final pizza by the Brickolinis, who the Lego Island wiki tells me are Pepper’s adoptive parents, which I don’t remember being mentioned in-game. This last pizza must go to the Brickster, the island’s only criminal, apparently, with his Sopranos accent. It turns out he’s been saving spicy chilli peppers, eats them all at once, and does a giant fiery burp to break his jail bars, escapes, and then promptly destroys Lego Island with a magic book....

This Classic format is a new mode that will take players back in time to 2014, the year that Hearthstone first launched. You’ll be able to craft decks using the game’s original 240 cards as they were in that fateful year. All of your Basic, Classic and Hall Of Fame cards will be usable in this mode, however all of their changes will be reverted to Hearthstone’s 1.0.0.5832 patch from June 2014....
