Over on Steam, player reviews are decidedly “mixed” as are the Steam forums, which the creators say they’ve been reading. “We’re committed to support the game with both technical fixes and new content,” they say in an update post. “The first priority is to fix the remaining technical issues. The team is already working hard on them and we plan an update improving the overall stability in the coming weeks....

Sucked into the Digital Kingdom, Narita Boy has to fight his way through a pixel-y world armed with his rainbow-coloured Techno-sword. An evil baddie named “HIM” has deleted the memories of the game developer, and you’ll need to cut down their Stallion henchmen to save the world. Alice Bee had a go of Narita Boy during Steam’s winter Game Festival this month, and reckons it was one of the best demos on offer....

Nice to see Dragon Age II and Inquisition’s Cassandra turn up. Absolution was first revealed during Netflix’s Geeked Week event in the summer. The new show revolves around a band led by Miriam, a brooding former slave of Tevinter voiced by Kimberly Brooks, as they fight against the dastardly Imperium. Brooks is joined by voice talents including Crtiical Role’s Matt Mercer and Ashly Burch, along with the legendary Phil LaMarr....

Buttery-smooth framerate? Absolutely. Ultra Wide-Screen compatibility? Pshh, yeah, why not. 4K Ultra-HD support? I’m still not certain what that means, but heck yeah. It certainly makes it look extremely nice to play. For those unfamiliar with Nioh 2, it’s a so-called “soulslike” (that is to say, “like a Dark Souls game”) which further dubs itself as “masocore”, which is just a fancy term for being crushingly difficult. On first glance it’s easy to mistake it for a Souls game wearing Japanese garb, but this isn’t the case at all....

Nioh 2: CE isn’t a new game, it’s just a buffer Nioh 2. This means it contains all three DLCs, runs faster than its PS4 counterpart, and has plenty of PC features. But its core still remains the same. Don’t expect any new regions to explore, or exclusive nunchucks to swing. For those who’ve already had their demon-slaying fill on PS4, it’s a difficult sell. But for budding yokai-bashers, you can’t go wrong with what’s on offer here....

Eurogamer report that the expeditions will start their re-runs on November 24th. Each one will be available to play for a shorter time than it was originally - just two weeks. The marquee bit is, of course, these giant creepy ships. Like the non-sentient ones, these living spacecrafts also have a bunch of slots for upgrades. The parts are also alive and apparently at least one of them is called a “vast crevice.” I demand to know who named all these things. Tentacle cockpits and vase crevices? Calm it down over there Hello Games. Anyhoo, the ships are alive and they hatch from whispering eggs....

In an interview with Digital Foundry at a recent preview event, Stratton said: “So we haven’t actually talked about [ray tracing] at all, and we, quite frankly, haven’t spent a ton of time [on it]. The team basically did some initial implementation and exploration about a year ago, but at that same time, we had so much that we wanted to do on the game still.” He added: “Our tech team are the biggest fans of new tech, so it was a little hard to pull everyone off of [those early ray tracing tests] because it was the shiny new toy, but when we’re talking about getting the game out there, and getting it out to as close to on time as possible and at the highest, polished quality, we had to pull back on those efforts....

I am very much not okay with that tunnel spider. And now I’ve got it into my head that the manmade habitat is some sort of Wasp Factory. Oh no. Grounded will hit early access July 28th on Steam and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which I’d assume means Game Pass For PC too. If you’d rather wait for the finished game, Obsidian have said they expect it’ll be done in 2021....

Of Love And Eternity is an adventure horror game with a low-poly aesthetic. You play as an undead knight who scours the world of the damned in search of his slain lover. Find her, and only then will you be able to escape purgatory and be merry. The alpha demo gives you a taste of the opening act, so you bear witness to all the king’s nastiness, followed by your rather frightening emergence into this oppressive world filled with skeletons, spiders, and creaking trees....

This depth of setting is the best thing about Ostranauts. As I said in my preview, it’s top-notch science fiction. The real deal, that you want to fly out and get lost in. But as I also said, the demo build was frustratingly obtuse to play. The more things you want to be possible in an open-ended game like this, the more scaffolding you have to build, and the history of early access sandbox games is littered with the wreckage of structures that were too rickety to hold the weight of play....
