Seasons pass, special events unfold, and residents appear convincingly human through the simple act of just wandering around as if they’ve got to be somewhere....
Stardew Valley is very easy to mod, you see. Most mods are practical and sensible, as collected in our Best Stardew Valley mods list, but my tastes run more to the whimsical and charming (similar to the new swimming mod that made Alice0 very happy last week). I have added many to my game. Notably, the kind of terrifying one that turns the horse into the male NPCs. But now I’ve found two more mods for my game that add succulents and cacti to your little farm, both from this year, and I’m surprised it took me this long, to be honest....

No more. The long-awaited patch announced back in April is arriving this week on July 15th. In a post on Steam, Square Enix outlined the changes. It seems to be what people were hoping for. You’ll know be able to run the game in borderless mode; pre-rendered cutscenes should now play at a stable 60FPS; and the frame rate in general has been improved. There are also higher resolution UI textures designed to work with 4K displays, tweaks to anti-aliasing, new lighting effects, and other minor bug fixes....

In a beefy dev update, People Can Fly said they’ve currently got a patch for the game’s free demo “in the pipeline”, and intend on releasing it sometime “early next week”. First up, a hallowed motion blur toggle will be added. I’m not usually one to get hung up on visual effects like this, but good lord it’s strong in Outriders. Something’s wrong when you want to rinse your eyeballs after sprinting, so I’m looking forward to toggling motion blur off when the patch arrives....

So, did your time with Overwatch 2 PVP beta reignite that interest, if at all? Liam: I mean… I guess so? Like… yes and no? I had a lot of fun playing the Overwatch 2 beta but not necessarily because of anything specific to the new game. There’s a lot of chat online about how this feels more like a substantial balance patch rather than a numbered sequel, and it’s hard to disagree with that sentiment....
The developers have announced the the Panzer Dragoon: Remake is coming to Steam and GOG and the PS4 “soon” with an Xbox launch “a bit later”. When the remake does arrive on PC, they say you’ll be taking flight with “improved graphics and controls, that suit modern gaming standards.” The visual update is pretty plain to see, though I admit I’m still a bit charmed by the original. Our corporate pals at Eurogamer have already given the Switch version a try and found it to be faithful, perhaps to a fault....

It also bundles together the expansion Cleopatra: Queen Of The Nile, originally released in 2000. There are consequently 53 missions in total to play, including the campaign which is set across six time periods during ancient Egypt....
